Digital Devices Donations: for Covid19 Edu Projects
Do you have any unused, but functional digital gadgets? Here is an opportunity to repurpose it for use by children and adults (in literacy programs). OSF has such project access to remote areas of Koraput (Odisha), where the risk of dropping out of school is high. Children in these areas are idling since March 2020. Sustaining their learning-continuity & school-readiness are big challenges for academicians. We plan to engage children through village-based volunteers who would take interactive sessions with about 5 kids in a village, taking all distancing precautions. They will be read stories, given home activity sheets, puzzles and shown academic videos.
Videos and educational content will be pre-loaded for areas with poor net connectivity. The devices are needed in a few city-orphanages also where children cannot access online classes now.
We shall keep you informed on how the gadgets are put to use. OSF shall make the logistics arrangements to send the devices. Donors will be given an in-kind gift acknowledgement. Given the enormity of the need for gadgets in the deprived areas of India, we would urge individuals and institutions to handhold us in this initiative. Thank you very much for your consideration!
